I've been working for about 6-months for a state-funded educational organization. I've read government-funded research reports that have stated that this type of educational program is totally worthless. Yet, teachers and staff just keep plugging away as though everything was just fine. I'm thinking of taking the story to the media, but if the government already knows this type of program doesn't work, why would they care to hear about my particular program?

I've read a theory that said that the youth rebellion of the 60's scared the establishment so much that they decided to dumb down the school system to keep it from happening again (and if this is true, it totally worked).

Regardless, the main goal is to keep us complacent and content working as drones. Have you noticed all the conditioning in school (both classical and operant). A lot of crazy things are taken for granted after the school experience. One of the more disturbing ones being that we have to raise our hands and be given permission before we speak our mind.

In large all government education is falling far short. This is because they get paid no matter what and do not have to compete. Private schools produce far greater results with less than half the money per student. That’s really sad. But just try to get any government institution to let go of it’s power for the better good of everyone. In short, they stay in business because the government check comes no matter what they do.
