Me and my boyfriend both attend the same college, are both from the same town, but he commutes back home, while I stay on campus. We are both low on money and he says that he cannot splurge on both of the days, and is not in favour for valentine's day because it falls on a wednesday, which is a school night and I have to get up for early classes on Thursday... we must make a compromise on the situation. Since our anniversary falls on a friday, i thought about just celebrating it on that weekend... I really need help on this sanario!!!!

What about celebrating both days the weekend of your anniversary and then on Valentine's Day just spend a little romantic time together. You don't have to spend a lot of money. On Friday you can do a dinner and a movie thing. On Sat you can watch a dvd and cuddle. The on V-day just send a little time together so you can get up and go to class the next day. Anniversary is more important than Valentine's Day.
So put more focus on the anniversary. Do what you think is good.
That weekend sounds like a good plan to me.
Basically what I'm doing is that I'm giving him a memory box with some stuff I put together for him. I also made him a really nice card with a heartfelt poem that I wrote. I made him a poem book with pictures I have taken as well. : } I'm doing all this stuff because Valentine's is our first anniversary. ♥
