Is it safe to give babies at the age of 5- 6 weeks Chamomile tea diluted with water for gas?

NO. Try either the over the counter product called Mylicon - give it up to three times a day with feedings. Or, you can buy a product called Gripe Water.

Otherwise, try burping more frequently - like after every ounce or two. If you're bottle feeding, make sure the opening in the nipple isn't too big or too small: too big, the formula rushes in and they swallow it too fast, too small, and they have to suck really hard and end up swallowing a lot of air.

Of course you should always ask your doctor, not us, but I did. My son got a little colicky and that's what I did. It was a miracle and didn't even take but a little. I gave him about and ounce of super diluted weak tea once or twice a day and he did really well. Just make sure you are buying tea from a reputable source, not a friend of a friend. I didn't use the store bought stuff, we have a shop that sells great tea in bulk. I'm sure the store bought tea would be fine though.

My midwife says yes.

Personally I used gripe water instead. Gripe water is all natural
