I know that Windows Vista PC's are for sale in stores (and online) now. What happens to the Windows XP stock and display computers? Do they sell them still (with huge discounts)?

I know that they are the same computers installed with XP on them. But, the new computers will all have Vista on them.

They stil, sell them, but no big discounts yet as 90%+ computers out there are not dual core and won't support vista.

There is no real such thing as a "Windows XP Computer", only a computer that coincidentally has XP installed on it. Those same computers can be formatted and have Vista put on them. What will really happen is the only computers that will run Vista will be the newest ones hot off the press. By nature of the industry, the older PC's will then be discounted accordingly. This has nothing to do with the operating system however because you can still get "New" computers with older operating systems on them if you request them. (Just check out dell.com or similar sites to see for yourself.)

Vista makes use of loads of components whilst in comparison with XP, so which you want a swifter pc with greater reminiscence and a much better hard rigidity to get the comparable outcomes. the earnings of Vista is that's prettier and Microsoft could quite like for each individual to purchase a replica because of the fact they want the money. the disadvantage to Vista is that's new. lots of the utility in the department stores has been made for XP, so it would or it would possibly no longer run on appropriate of Vista. If it does run; each and every thing would be slower in case you run Vista (because of the fact Vista takes up maximum of of your gadget components) i could choose for XP. it works, they have have been given lots of the bugs out, together as Vista's nonetheless buggy Edit: I only reread your question. once you're determining to purchase a clean pc from a substantial broker, you will could have Vista. Microsoft needs each and every physique to purchase it & they have the leverage with the OEMs and enormous sellers.

They still sell them. Microsoft offers service for XP for a few years before it is discontinued.

Some companies sell computers in XP and say they're Vista Upgradeable
