I'm 13 weeks into my pregnancy. However, I haven't gained any weight and I can still fit into my old clothes comfortablly. Is it normal? I do eat more since I found out I am pregnant though. My breasts are just a bit fuller than before, but not as much. If you were, or are pregnant, would you please let me know how many months in your pregnancy that you started to show? I had my ultra sound a month ago, when I was at 9 weeks pregnant, the doctor saw my baby and said it was a bit small, but fine. This is my 2nd pregnancy, by the way. I had a miscarriage the first time at 8 weeks. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I did not show at all during my whole pregnancy with my son. I only gained 10 pounds and i am a slender woman so you see some gain alot and some don't. You may start to show later on or not at all. I did not have to wear anything maternity. My son was and is healthy.
Everyone is different and just because you don't gain 45 pounds or sticking out so big does not mean there is anything wrong with you or the pregnancy.
Good luck and congrats

Are you already real skinny, and maybe tall too? I have a 2 yr old and 33 wks pregnant with 2nd. I am 5'10 and weigh before pregnant about 120 to 125. I am the same way. I just now started wearing maternity shirts. I was wering my small tops and size 5 or 7 jeans up until about a month ago. People think I am 5 months pregnant but I am 8. With both my kids I look like I swallowed a small basketball. Think of your self as lucky. After I had my son I was back in my size 5 jeans when I left the hospital. Everyone was like hold on I thought you just had a baby. You will gain some weight but mainly at the end. Congrats

I was told I had a miscarriage at 6-7 weeks. I went in for a follow up checkup 3 months later. I found out (much to EVERYONE'S surprise), that I was still pregnant (20 weeks by the ultrasound), but I'd only gained 3 pounds (and I thought it was christmas weight :-)) I didn't start wearing maternity clothes until about 6 1/2 months, and I didn't really "show" until 7 1/2 months. I gained 20 pounds total on a 5'9" frame. I had a 7lb 15 oz baby at 41 weeks.

Because your first pregnancy ended so early, your stomach muscles didn't pop, and you will show as IF this were your first pregnancy. In other words, much later than women on their second or subsequent pregnancies.

Also, heredity could be a factor. Find out how much your mom and grandma gained, as well as when they started showing. My grandmother gained 9 lb total, and wore a fitted dress to the hospital when she was in labor. :-)

Best of luck. :-)

I didn't get a pouch until 4 months with my last pregnancy and I didn't look pregnant until about 6 months. Don't worry, the first two trimesters is when everything is developing. It's not really until the last tri-mester that the baby starts to grow larger. Everything has to be formed before it can grow larger. Be patient. I know how frustrating it can be because you want everyone to know you're pregnant, so you want to "show". It just takes time. You are starting your second trimester, so your risk of miscarriage reduces significantly. I had a miscarriage my first pregnancy at 8 weeks, so I didn't even tell anyone I was pregnant until the end of my first trimester with my last pregnancy. I am 8 weeks pregnant again. I have seen the heartbeat on the u/s so I'm not going to worry and just enjoy this pregnancy as much as possible. Best wishes to you for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

I'm 35 weeks... and I'm just now back to my pre-conception weight. Morning sickness is the best diet ever.

Some women gain more weight than others. You really shouldn't start packing on the pounds until your last trimester, when the baby is hitting its biggest growth spurt. You also may not need to get into maternity clothes until around your 7th month, so keep that in mind. You may be 4 or even 5 months along before anyone sees any signs of your pregnancy at all... and some women go nearly the whole time wearing baggy shirts and no one ever notices.

It depends on your body structure. If the doctor isn't worried, then you shouldn't worry either.

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks too and now I am 11 weeks pregnant. I don't know that I have really gained any weight I just mainly feel bloated. But the thing to remember is every pregnancy is different. I am reading "What to expect when you are expecting" and in there it has 3 pictures of the different ways a woman can carry. And one picture you could barely even tell she was pregnant. Everyone is different, but like anything else if you want to put your mind at ease talk to your doctor.

It may be that you just haven't started to show yet. If this is the first preganacy you're carrying through then sometimes it takes longer to show. I didn't really show a good tummy and need pregnancy clothes until almost 6 months. I thought I was going to be the thinnest pregnant lady ever. The weight had no problem piling on from months 6-9. I was still the size of a house when she was born. If you're concerned about your weight talk to your ob/gyn next visit.

Most of the time you only will see changes after 4 to 5 months of pregnancy. If you are slim it will take a while before you really can see it. I saw a classmate at a reunion of me being 20 weeks pregnant and I wouldn't have known unless she had told me. She is usually very slim too.

I didn't start showing I was pregnant until 5 to 5 1/2 months. So you have some time.

the baby was 2 oz underweight at last sono. but the doc isnt worried, all looked healthy otherwise,

sounds like your doc isnt worried either. This is my 2nd pregnancy too, and looking back on my pregnancy journal, I had already gained 17 pounds with my first one!
