There are lots of places to visit in BC, the province is bigger than France.
Vancouver Island has sandy beaches, beautiful hiking, lakes, shopping in Victoria and Nanaimo. Victoria has lots to do including two castles to go through and a fabulous museum.
The Okanagon is famous for it's wine, and there are plenty of wineries to tour.
Vancouver is one of the only citites I've ever been to with a beach right downtown. Really this province has a ton of great things to do...no matter where you are

Vancouver Island has many nice places to see
City of Victoria has the many nice historical sites,
Parksville, very nice sandy beaches and some provincial parks nearby to hike or camp.
Long Beach & Tofino are nice places to see on the Westside of the Island.

The Interior of British Columbia (Okanagan & Columbia and Kootenays) is also nice to visit with lots of scenic drives and views, provincial and National parks to visit and hike.

Some nice towns in the interior would be:
Radium, Cranbrook, Revelstoke, Creston, Nelson, Vernon, Penticton & Kelowna.

If you like the big city life the Lower mainland (Vancouver) has nice places as well and many sites and scenary. However, with the windstorms Stanley Park has been closed in certain areas due to terrain assessments and blowdown.
