loading music to an ipod?

hi
i know this is a really simple thing to do but we are having a few problems!!? We just want to load a cd on to an ipod via the pc, we are getting confused , do we need to rip it or burn it or what, as you can see we are not really technical!! Can someone just give me a few step by step instructions!? Many thanks

put the cd into the computer
and open up itunes
and in the top right hand corner of itunes click on the round button that says "IMPORT"
if you do not want to upload all of the songs just uncheck the little box next to the song title

load the cd into the driver, click on import cd at the bottom right of the i-tunes page. If you don't want a particular song just uncheck the box next to the song title. Plug in your i-pod to the usb port and update it.

ripping is taking the music from the cd onto the computer
burning is butting the coppied cd onto another cd
use a site like itunes and it will make life so much easier for you

If you have itunes on your PC its really simple
1 import the music from your preferred CD to your itunes music player on your computer
2 plug in you ipod and wait, it should automatically connect to your itunes and update itself.

use windows media player and choose to sync it first then rip it. then if your ipod is connected it should show in the right hand side you just drag the music you want over to it.

then drag music from cd to 'library'

then drag what you want to 'ipod'

all on itunes....
