Are there any fans of Jasper Fforde?

Question

A friend recommended that I read some of his books, but this same friend has recommended books that I have read and hated. I just wanted to see how many people like his books. Also, which is your favorite?

Jasper Fforde's books are very clever. But if you arent' familiar with the classics of literature he "plays" with in the books, you won't enjoy them.
