What are good songs to use as backing music to talk over?

The show is a hospital radio show...so no dance songs. Examples of the tunes i play - Beatles - let it be, U2 - with or without you, Coldplay - Clocks, Clash - Lullaby....For the moment i've been using instrumental versions of indie songs which go quite well but looking for more ideas.

Now, hold on. There are "dance" tracks that make good beds. In fact, I can take a few right off my playlist.

Djuma Soundsystem "Les Djinns (Trentemoller Rmx)"
Adam Freeland "Big Wednesday"
Sasha "XPander"
Autechre "Clipper"
Alex Smoke "Don't See the Point (Pointless Remix)"

Don't hate. Incorporate.

Hi,Luke,
'Albatross' by Fleetwood Mac' is a nice gentle one. M&S used it on their TV ads,so most patients will be familiar with it.
Also, some instrumental acoustic by Tommy Emmanuel (probably the worlds best acoustic guitarist) such as 'Angelina from album 'Endless road (very gentle song)- catch a sample on

Hope it helps. (sorry,I hate finishing with that,but...)
Good luck in a very worthwhile job,

it really p***es me off when DJ's talk over records. SO DONT DO IT. typical DJ talk over is the guitar solo on "Hotel California"...I truly hate that, and when it happens I feel like doing something nasty to the DJ

Depends. Edit your question and tell me which genre your radio station plays. Then I can help you.
