save the world except study science?

Haven't great science breakthroughs only occured when one lone man stands up to reveal a discovery, usually AGAINST popular opinion? My how that is such a contrast to herds of 3rd rate scientists, mobs of left wing political hacks, and scores of UN officials congregating in front of TV cameras being cheered by a bunch of media circus freaks!

There is a cadre of eco-freaks that are attempting to use the hoax of human caused global climate change to scare people into giving up their freedoms. Al Gore, always the primary target, wants us to all move into mega-cities (Earth in the Balance) and give up virtuallly all travel. This cadre is also trying to use it as a means of wealth redistribution, abandonment of property rights, and the fulfillment of pretty much all of the ten main points of the Communist Manifesto. I notice that none of the 'scientists' who whine about our ice caps melting have bothered to learn that the Martian ice caps are also melting at an 'alarming' rate. Wow, our polluting ability knows no bounds!

Ummm... honestly I think you have the identity of who is studying science and who is ignoring conclusions reached by every leading climate researcher in the world backward.
Honestly, can you really ignore an effect of such huge proportions and of such credible evidence that even Exxon-Mobil is accepting global warming data and conclusions as self-evident?
Truly this question is nearly as ludicrous as the Christian natural history museum which showcases dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden ( "Tyrannosaurs had those sharp teeth to open coconuts and were not meat eaters until Adam and Eve were cast out") and explains that Noah could fit the dinos on the ark by only carrying babies!
Next thing, you're gonna try to blame Clinton for 9/11, right?

Scientific fact, or theory, has never been one person standing up and saying, "This is the way it is" w/o a concensus of his peersin agreement. This is exactly why global warming is a mainstream issue. Most scientistsw believe the theory to be true.

And if YOU had studied the science, you would know that. There is a word for those who do not practice what they preach. Enjoy your crow.

Science is what's going to get us out of this! We need to come up with a lot of new alternatives. It would seem the special-interest factions are freaking out thinking they will die out. Maybe they will. Don't you think that's how the horse-and-buggy people felt when the automobile took over?

If the auto industry knows what's good for it they'd BEST be coming up with more hybrids and maybe even a way to convert present engines very cheaply, cause there are too many people who can't afford to buy a new car.

Are you suggesting there's no scientific evidence of global warming?

As for the person who asked "so what" ...

Global warming can lead to:

Polar melting raising ocean levels, permanently flooding low-lying land.

Release of methane from the oceans that will dramatically increase the greenhouse gases and thus the temperature.

Failed crops leading to famines.

Mass extinctions where species cannot adapt to dramatic climate change.

So maybe your inalienable right to drive your Lincoln Navigator needs to be reconsidered.

It's the only planet we have so it would seem prudent to err on the side of caution.

Reducing use of fossil fuels will also:

Reduce (or even eliminate) the US's dependence on foreign oil.

Reduce pollution that contributes to respiratory disease.

global warming is science BUT there is a debate on the cause and the effect - that's where politics and money become involved and if you are getting your news from ANYONE their bias

Which science? The 100% of scientists that say it is happening or the 50% of media that says it is not?

study time is over, time to get off square one and act. Show your faith in "global warming lies" and buy low lying coastal property. and after that tell the polar bears it's not real too.

Ahahaha. It is the Rapture Righties who refuse to study science. It is the Rapture Righties who claim the earth is only 6,000 years old. "...except study science?" Ha! That was funny.
