The stats read that 70% of all Black children are out of wedlock. Most do not see their fathers on a regular basis. Why don't the black leaders condemn this behavior of having children out of wedlock? I think that is the basis of poverty stricken people. Is it because they want the African Americans to procreate no matter what the circumstances and that there would be a significant decrease in the Black population if this behavior decreased substancially?

More serious matters??? How can this continuing trend of the majority of children born out of wedlock is 70% not be serious? In most cases the fathers are not present. Thats not serious issue? Young woman are in their teens getting pregnant? In turn less educated+less parenting guidance=poverty. Why can't people accept that? Is it because they don't want to blame themselves? Is that why Bill Cosby received critism from the black community? Because he was stating the facts and telling the community to be responsible for their own actions?

I can't answer this question. however, it is a good question. I do see Caucasian leaders speaking of abstinence, and the use of condoms and protection. You don't hear of this in the African American Community. I don't think there is anything more important right now. They need to start focusing on that. Baby daddy's going to jail or getting shot. Mama's going on welfare, no learning responsibility of getting a job to raise their children.
I went to a resource center to get a pregnancy test. When i was outside smoking, i heard two African American girls talking and one said to the other, "don't get a job, if you do, you are not going to get the money, that's what I did." That made me realize that I don't want financial assistance.

It is the parents' responsibility to teach their children responsible behavior. The leaders in any community, of any race, cannot and should not be responsible to do the jobs of the parents. No matter how hard they try, leaders can make no changes to reckless behaviors unless parents set a good example and teach proper morals.

1. The are no leaders to do that. Presidents of African only want power and money.

2. African women do not always have the choice. It is kinda harder to turn down a man in Africa, and it totally uncommon to demand that he uses a condom
