I thought matter makes up everything. My science teacher says that there are some things that aren't made up of matter. What are some of these things? I'm not sure I get what my teacher is trying to say. Some examples/websites explaining would be helpful. Thanks!

Remember Einstein's equation: E = mc2

Energy = Matter multplied by (speed of light) squared

Energy is not made of matter. Some types of energy include electricity, light, gravity. These can be measured but are not made of matter

everything that has mass, takes up space is matter...there is such a thing as anti-matter on the cosmic level but anything that we can see is made up of matter...
