They look awful because the tailor ignored my instructions and did not keep the original hem on the jeans. New the pant leg is just folded under with a thin line of thread about 1/4 inch from the bottom. It ruins the entire look of the pant. Assuming the tailor threw away the original hem, is there anything I can do to fix this? THANKS!

i have had the same thing happen to me as well. as jessica mentioned, there's nothing really that you can do. i just deal with it.

I have actually left instructions with the dry cleaner and this last time they followed them and they look weird too. There's this really creased line in the lower edge of the hem that is where the old fold used to be. It never irons out. So I almost wish they had done the smaller hem.

shorties like me seemingly can't win.

I don't think there is anything that you can do to make them look better than just the normal hem especially if they are the correct length. I would just keep them that way because half of my designer jeans are just hemmed normally, and you honestly cannot tell when you put them on with shoes.
I would be really cautious before taking any other step to try to "fix" the problem. It will probably just do more damage.

I don't think that there is much help for them. If you do decide to try again, I would go to a different tailor. If it's that bad, take them up more and make them capris.
