Amsterdam is only a city, the laws go for the entire country:

Canabis (weed) is not officially legal here, it is tolerated to certain standards.

You will not get arrested if you grow a maximum of 5 plants (no artificial lights or fertilizer), and it won't get confiscated. This is considered for private use.

Also, it's tolerated if you carry up to 5 grams in your bag/pocket.

Licenced coffee shops can sell their products to customers older than 16. This is very strict.

No. What you're relating is a few previous talk of proscribing purchases to locals in basic terms. there have been some who have been worried approximately each and all of the border runners coming over from Germany to attain marijuana. in reality, there substitute into even an ordeal at greater than a number of border cities the place it substitute into limited to locals in basic terms. despite if, there is not any sign or rigidity for this to unfold to something of The Netherlands

Growing weed is not allowed, but the police will not do anything. There are European rules that forbid legalizing the growing of cannabis for commercial use.
The enforcement of laws against the growth, use and selling of cannabis is concentrated on the activities that
- cross the line between soft drugs like cannabis and hard drugs like herion, (selling only small quantities of weed for individual use is not allowed, but the police do not enforce the law, as soon as you also sell XTC or herion, the police will enforce the laws)
- that create problems nearby (like no selling near schools)
Growing and smoking for your own use is not legal, but is is allowed. Grow shops that sell things for growing cannabis are also allowed.

It's legal in Amsterdam. However, they are very strict about enforcing the legal age requirement - very, very strict. Even if you are old enough if shop owners see that you are buying for your underage friends, they will not sell it to you. They are quite strict.

Legal to partake. To sell, you need a license.
