much sorrow. she was forcefully wed to Hades (God of the Underworld and brother of Zues and Posiden) and remain in Hades (also the name of the Underworld) for 9 months of the year. She is the Goddess of Spring, as the three months she was allowed to roam above would always be spring. Hades allowed her to venture out of Hades (confusing, i know) for those three months because he saw how miserable she was with out the sun shining on her face. It is said that her joy to feel the sun again is what causes the Spring Bloom.

persephone was abducted by Hades and became the Goddess of the underworld. Before that she was an innocent maiden young beautiful girl. when her name is mentioned, the terms death and evil are automatically thought of. me personally, i have always seen her as having two personalities. one innocent and one dark. though she is the queen of the underworld, she has an angelic nature and personality but by force, needs to facade herself to compliment her husband Hades
