My computer gives me 'Error Loading Operating System'. Safe Mode is not accessable. I do not have the disk anymore, it is gone. I have heard it can be the onboard battery. How do I get into safemode? How can I boot windows? I do I save my computer without taking it in to be repaired?

First, make sure you don't have a floppy disk or a CD in the machine. Turn on the computer and hold F8 until you get a question about booting up in safe mode.

If you can't get to there, your hard drive is probably crashed. The only alternative then is to boot from a floppy or CD and try to fix your HD problem.

If you don't have the disk (hard disk drive), there is not operating system. You can not go to safe mode. Put the disk back.
