Lately i've been starting to really start to look around at colleges. ideally, i want to go to an ivy type school, but unfortunately a sub par frosh year will most likely keep me from that. eventually i want to be a doctor, so i'm more concerned with my med school over first 4 year school. if i were to go to...say rutgers, would it be unrealistic to try and go to an IVY league med school?

I've got two second cousins who both did their medical residencies at the hospital my wife worked at. Both came from Rutgers. I think their older sis is a doc too who went to Rutgers, altho I think I've only met her once so I don't know much about her.

Anyways, my point is that going to Rutgers won't stop you from becoming a doctor. Even an Ivy League med school is not out of the question, altho what med school you go to really doesn't matter too much.

If you do well enough at any top 50 college you'll be able to get into the medical school of your choice. Just make certain you don't make the same mistake this freshman year.
