I'm flying out of Vegas and I heard that it is cheaper and wiser to get a hotel and park my vehicle at the hotel for the week. Other than airport parking. What is the process.

Go to large casino on the Strip, preferable the south end[like Mandalay Bay/Luxor], park properly in a slot in their general parking garage, lock your , make sure headlights are off, go get the shuttle or a cab[do not let the cab take you to the expressway] go Trop to Paradise[right turn] and you are at McCarren

I have stayed at roughly 10 hotels in Vegas and never heard of any of them charging.

Some of them might say they charge, but they don't. Can you imagine the cost and difficulty that would associated with trying to find out if everyone who is staying at the hotel is a guest or has payed for parking? There is more then enough free parking to go around, and Vegas does not want to hassle people with a needless expense like that. Best thing to do is just park, and not bring it to any ones attention.

Parking at all of the hotels is free. Its self park unless you use valet parking. Just drive into one of the parking garages and park with the other cars. Before you park, call one of the many shuttle bus services and arrange to be picked up at that hotel. a round trip from a strip hotel to the airport will be for you about $10. Park at the MGM, its close to the airport.

Just park your car. They really don't check as long as you aren't taking up two spaces or parked in a handicapped spot. Just drive up, park, and then go grab a taxi or shuttle to the airport. A friend of mine does it ALL THE TIME. He once left his car for two weeks without a problem.
Just don't be obvious about it :)
