Since we all know that plans for the invasion of Iraq started during the Clinton Administration. Would he be the one to blame if Bush Sr. had served 2 terms?

Since the invasion of Iraq was inevetable, would Bush be the one cleaning up Clinton's mess? Or did he already get stuck with Clinton's mess?

It is hard to tell what would have happened. IF Bush Sr. won twice, that would be 1988-1996 for him. And then who knows what would have happened in 1996.

George Bush, Sr was president before Clinton, and George W Bush (his son) was president after Clinton. I believe that a president can only serve 2 consecutive 4 year terms.

In what sense was the invasion of Iraq "inevitable"? If it was, why are we now finding out about all these rationalizations and pieces of "evidence" that never were true, and the Bush administration knew it?

I predicted this at the outset of the war: If things ended up not going well, we would find out that somehow Clinton was responsible. Bush is supposed to be a standup guy, "the decider," for heaven's sake. So what's the deal now?

The United States Government as a whole had a policy of regime change in Iraq, that doesn't mean war was necessary to achieve so conceptualy you're wrong from the gitgo with the question, so NO is the answer

oh my lord.. who made the decision to go into Iraq?? it was BUSH.. he didn't have to.. he is commander in cheif.. he made the damn decision.. Clinton had 8 years.. if he wanted in he would have found a way in .. same as Bush did.. is that so hard to understand?? so the answer is, no.. we would still be cleaning up Bush's mess.
