Because dealing with changes needed to minimize global warming (which is a true phenomenon) is very inconvenient to a society that is in love with consuming energy.

Because people do not want to accept what he has to say as the truth because it means they will have to change how they are living in order to ensure the future of our planet (therefore, it is inconvenient)

Because people do not want to hear the truth. It is inconvenient to hear that their SUV's and other devices contribute to global warming. It is also inconvenient to hear that we are destroying the earth for our grandchildren and great grandchildren
