ABSOLUTELY NOT! I should know.....have been through it (almost twice).

Even if you stayed married, retire and something happens to you, then she wouldn't get a cent....the laws are changing though and you need to ask your lawyer.

2 years if you settle if she's the first wife i think that's how it goes and if you die, she might be able to continue to collect. something like that.
