The one thing Forks has in it's corner is that it's the only town out in the middle of nowhere. Anyone who visits the coastal area of Olympic National Park who is looking for coffee, a snack, a meal, a motel, etc. will find it only in Forks unless they care to hunt for it.

Forks is a really small town. I was there overnight last summer to see the Hoh Rainforest. There are numerous motels, a few restaurants, a couple large stores (Ace Hardware, Thriftway), and not much else that I could see. It doesn't seem to be a really great place for a business. I'm not sure if Forks has much in the way of arts and entertainment; it seems like more of a town that people drive through and forget about than one that people go to for any specific purpose. The rainforest is close by, but that's all that I know of.

Travelled through Forks and it was not a great site. Mostly a Logging town, which in the winter gets very dark and depressing. I was not a huge fan of the nearby desolation as well as the culturally uprooted reservation areas. Depending on what your business is obvioulsy cooresponds on how successful you'll be. But as far as inquiry on what arts/culture there is - I consider it very little of substance.

I have only been as far as Port Angeles, which is a depressing seaport town that has a ferry going to Victoria, B.C. Forks is a logging town and it rains there a lot. Hope this helps, but you did not say what type of business you are opening up. Gambling is big in that area of the state, but the casinos are run by the Indian tribes.

I can only add to what everyone else has said already. Small town with nothing much going for it except being surrounded by millions of trees. Not even on the water. It is probably about 50 miles east or south to "civilization". Not a growth area.

Forks is a really small town around 3,500 people. It does get some tourism in the summer months. There is about 20 Hotel/Motels, a few restaurants, a grocery store. Below is some sites that could help you find more information on the city of Forks. Good Luck with your Business!

That's not a good idea... why not buy a business along Hwy. 12 or the Westport or Ocean Shores towns right on the coast, that would be brilliant (TONS of tourists).
