My teacher today pulled me into the hall for no reason and said I was doing something and I knew what I was doing. I didn't. Later she pulled me out again and wrote me up to go to ISS later for insubordination. Unfair? I didn't know what I did! Has a teacher ever yelled at you for no reason?

I myself am in 6th grade. i do not have a problem with my attitude like someone remarked. This is the first time in 6th grade I have ever gotten written up.

Also this teacher once took someone in the hall with her microphone on and everyone heard how she humiliated the kid. She has a problem with her attitude, not me.

My boys have been in their school for a year now since we moved to Tennessee from New York the people down here don't like us. My boy have been written up on several occasions and put in ISS as well and when I confront the teachers they lie, so I have turn their school into the board of ed for discrimination and stereotyping.
All the teachers that both my boys have call them Yankees and crackers and they also take them out into the hall so that no one else can hear them. Both my boys use their cellphone to record any further conversations they now have with their teachers when no one else is around.

There is always a reason.......maybe not something you did but something they did. Who better to vent on than a student. A wife or an administrator would probably squash em' like a bug, if he or she tried reprimanding them for some unknown reason. Teachers have a tendency to be a bit more narcissistic than the rest of us. Wait a few years...say 10, then pay a visit to them and give them a few words of wisdom. like..."I really didn't know who you were back then but, I have since come to the realization that you were teaching me using a toolbox that was missing a few important social tools!" " However you did teach me to recognize a Narcissist when I see one." Try it you'll feel better. But wait until you're a bit older. We have all had one of those teachers.

If you don't know why you were punished, talk to your school principal or counselor. Obviously the teacher saw or suspected something that something you were doing was wrong. But how can you correct that if you don't know? As far as the insubordination, why were you so defensive? I hate to say this, but even the subject of your posting "Do teachers throw power around" indicates to me that you might have a problem with your attitude.

My 5th grade math teacher said that I copied someone's answers, but she never questioned the kid with the same answers that I had. I mean, she was threatening to fail me. WTH? Who says that the other kid didn't copy my answers? Teachers always let the popular kids do anything they want to.

It is ridiculous for a teacher to not tell you the behavior they want you to quit.

Good luck trying to explain it to anyone. Everyone seems to believe the teachers and never the students.

My science teacher constantly targets me for the most minute detail. The whole class will be talking and then she would tell me directly tostop talking while everybody else is talking around her.

that's terrible.. i've gotten 6 detentions this year. only 1 i deserved. 3 were for laughing, one for being late (my stuff was in the classroom!), one for touching something (i was putting it back after some dumbass took it off the teachers desk), and then the one i actually deserved which was for talking. best of luck man.. and don't let her rule you.

The teacher has a responsibility to educate all the students and has no time for nonsense so I will say that she was not being unfair.
I will also say that it takes a good $ 1, 500.00 a year for your education so if you aren't there for that reason, go to a school that doesn't care..believe me you will find none.
