but i am wondering, can a straight woman be 'friends only' with a straight man. Or should I be looking for a gay man to be friends only with?
I know anything is possible, just want to know what you all think.

Forget it. all men...ALL MEN!, want to have sex, especially with there friends. If you want to alienate yourself from finding a BF, then, sure, find a queer...believe it or not, straight men do not respect gay men. and respect is all that a man knows. If you really want a friend that is a man...be friends with a man...you will find out that I am right.

a straight man can't be freinds with a straight women, because then the man would get a vibe about the women. And a gay man wouold act like a women but still would be a man. the only way it would work with a straight guy is if you've already went out with him and he already has a girlfriend.

Yes it's possible, me & my ex-girlfriend broke up cause we needed some space from each other/lost romantic interests/etc. but after a while we started talking & we still hang out & do things as "friends" on occations, & she's like my best friend. (I tried to hook her up with my cousin, but they're happy being "friends only" & go out to the movies every week. (they have more in common with each other but as long as they're happy.)

Well either would work depending on their attitude. The nice thing about gay guys who are slightly "queeny" is they are great for decorating ideas and fashion sense.

I think it's totally possible to be friends with a girl and only plutonically. But every single girl that I was either bestfriends with or very good friends have ended with either me liking them, going out and bombing our friendship, or they liking me, going out and bombing our friendship...that's just me though....
I really hope it's possible

y wouldn't you be able to!! i am a streight girl and i have loads of streight guy mates! there great we respect each other and no one makes moves on each other. they can be great to take you away from the bitchyness of girls. go for it there are some good decent guys out there! x x
