I threw my bestfriend a dinner party the other day. I spent a lot of money on it. I bought food, alcohol, cake, and rented a bunch of movies. I also bought her $50.00 gift card to Victoria Secret. The problem is, she didn't show up. I called her non stop, and went to her house. She knew a week in advanced that I was having this party for her. So theres no excuse that she forgot. I found out that she was hung over and sleep all day. I was very mad that I spent so much money throwing this party. So I took her gift card and spent it on myself. I dont feel bad because I spent a lot of money on this party and she didn't show up. Is that wrong for spending the gift card. She didn't know that I got it for her. Some of my friends said it was wrong.

That's tough. I think I would've done the same thing. She could've at least called you to let you know that she wasn't going to come so you couldv'e resceduled the party. You showed that you cared but it seems as if she didn't care. I wish I had a friend like you.

well, technically yes because it is meant for her. but you know both sides have their "faults"; yours is that you spent the gift card without even having her side to listen to. and her fault is she became so irresponsible and she slept all day just because of HUNG OVER. make a decision. make up your mind. lower your pride and go talk to her tell her that u felt very bad that day(until now????).

You have every right to be ticked off, obviously she didnt care enough to think. So in the future, watch your back. good for you to spend the gift card. I hope she apologised and made it up to you.

My ex best friend use to be like that...needless to say we just stoped being friends.

I hope you bought something VERY nice for yourself. I would have been highly pissed if she did something like that. I would reconsider the "bestfriend" status as I would reconsider the "friend" status who said what you did was "wrong". Perhaps they might fit better under "airheads".

You absolutely did the right thing.

She is not a friend

You were right in using the card on yourself

Your other "friends" sound like winners.

I am sorry you were treated like dirt

I don't think that was wrong of you. Your so called friends don't seem very considerate. I would be mad as hell. Did she even say she was sorry.
