I'm assuming it's the "Check" light that comes on when you first start the engine. That goes away after you press the brake pedal, which makes sure you check you have brake pressure and that your brakes lights are working properly.

It's redundant, but a good way to make you check your car before you hit the road.

It could be the service indicator lights that need to be periodically reset. They start out as being green and as each light goes out, one by one until the yellow one is illuminated. That indicates that its time to take the car in for service.
