Excellent question.

It is very clear that many mistakes were made in the conducting of the war in Iraq. Our Best Generals, the CIA, Connie Rice and a host of other advisers made strategic blunders in the planning and implementation of the war in Iraq.

It appears now, that Iran and Syria have been supplying munitions and men to combat the Coalition and Iraqi forces. Not really news at this time.....those reports have been in the Newspapers and Blogs for two years.

Nato forces are going to Iraq in an attempt to halt the spread of the Religious civil war.

If we leave before the country and region is secure, the Terrorists will be attacking again and again...as they are attacking in the UK at this very moment. Watch CNN for the latest news.

Out side of the Human rights issues, the commanding issue is the Oil supply of the complete region and the reaction of the Isreali's. The Isreali airforce is on Defcon 4. There objective is the eliminate the Iranian Nuclear facilities. Isreal attack Iraq 15 or more years ago and completely destroyed the Iraqi Nuclear facilities that were biult by the French.

Saudi Arabia will go to the winner of the struggle. France and Germany and Russia had a huge financial stake in the Pre-Saddam regime. I am sure they want to recoup those financial losses. As the term goes: They will bargain with the devil.

One area where George Bush failed was his Patriot act...That Act made no distinction between the Gran mothers in the United States and potential terrorists.

As the plan stands at this time, there will be no winners.

I feel certain that Iran and perhaps Syria should be attacked and their Terror training camps and the Nuclear facilities neutralized.

My personal concern is that the Next President will face a more ominous challenge in dealing with the Iraq/Iran issue.

One thing is very clear to me: The Problem will not go away.

In the event that Iraq falls to the Terriorists, the complete region will see a wider war and we in the United Staes must be prepared for more attacks from the Fanatics.

The New Admiral who was just confirmed stated the following:

We may be able to contain the Insuregents, maybe. But, time is not on our side. That Admiral has my respect, because he was trying to be honest. Our forces may fail in the struggle in Iraq.

George Bush and his advisors have less that two years to complete the task and prevent a wider war.

After all is said and done: This is all happening on President Bush's watch.

Lets all hope for the best and God bless our British and American forces.

As a infantry soldier in the army who has been to Iraq I believe I have more insight on this topic then most.First off we havent lost this war. The United States military has never lost a major battle since the revlolutionary war. Politics is the reason it looks so bad. So far all of you that read this please dont insult our honor by saying that we have lost.

Most of the insurgents that are planting the ieds and attacking us are not even Iraqi. They are Syrian Iranain,Saudis,Turkish, or from other arab countries in the region. The Iraqis want peace and they want democracy. These insurgents dont care about that they just want to kill American infidels.

It will take a long time for us to secure Iraq but you know what? I signed the friggin line. I knew what I was getting into when I signed it. I wanted to help change the world and protect my country and oppressed people in other countries.

All I hear and see on the news is how America wants us out and how these politicians go to some palace in Bahgdad and talk with other politicians (see how much fact comes out of that conversation) and how they thinking were screwing it up. Until you talk to the people on the streets you dont know what the hell is going on.Thousands of years of historical violence doesnt change over night. It take a lot of time. But it is possible and if we can stabablize Iraq then we can stabalize the middle east.

It takes time and dedication. The American military has that dedication. So dont let our fallen die for nothing and dont make our sacrifices be in vain because you want to hear something new on the news.

The problem definitely will not go away!
The USA became involved in Iraq for nefarious reasons, having more to do with control of oil and oil prices, and payback for daddy bush, than for the stated reasons.
However, that being said, the USA now has a moral obligation to see this through.
To withdraw at this time would be catastrophic. Iraq is much worse off now than before invasion, and conditions will become even worse with withdrawl!

I believe it will get worse. The terrorists have already said they want to take over the world. The liberals say they want to sit down with them and 'chat' HOW do you reason with a snake that is ready to bite you in the face. Bush should have just gone in and taken care of the problem instead of dragging it out, but he is trying to be political correct to some degree for his ratings and to apease the liberals somewhat.
I can't wait til the next Presidency and Hillary or whoever has to take over the war. I bet they do what they didn't want Bush to do and act like it was their idea; or else they will end the war and all hell will break out.

That would be a reversal of the situation in Afghanistan where after the Russians left, the Americans invaded Afghanistan, so now it might be the other way round with Iraq

I think there will still be problems and it`ll go on for a very long time! That`s because there are people that want democracy but there are also sepparatists and `conflicts emerge. For Iraq the trouble just started!

No,many have forgotten the filming of the achille laurel when the terrorist threw a jewish elderly man over board into the ocean,or the bodies of people they killed and threw on the airport tarmack when they hijacked a plane. These are many of attacks that have been forgotten or gone unnoticed for years. No it will not stop unless we stop it.No we should not exit,it will be another masacre worse than what is going on now with the people who are helping american soldiers get the terrorists over there. We have to remember,if not for our sakes, this must be fought for the sake of our children.

No, it won't go away. It's been going on long before we got there and will go on long after we leave. I wish there was a way to bring our troops home, but we have made quite a mess there and I don't see how we can just leave at this point.

It'll probably get worse. And with recent reports of Iran involvement, much worse. I'm no fan of the war, but I seriously doubt all will be good if we just pick up and leave.

We've create quite a mess there.

If the US pulls out, its puppets will be overthrown. Maybe a stable govt will result quickly, maybe not, but both the pull out and the overthrow are necessary steps toward stability in the region.

Stay or leave, either way, the US has lost this unnecessary war.
