What a shocking way for some of the people who have already answered to talk! Haven't you lot ever heard of stereotyping? It reminds me of one of the reasons I left England.
I admit not all accents are nice to listen too including some American and British accents (New York and Brummie spring to mind) but a good old Southern State accent is rather sexy to me.
If I were not married I would ask you out for a drink so I could carry on listening!

I like it , just one thing I would like to mention although I am classed as British I am a Scot, most Americans seem to think that British means London and the rest of the UK are little country roads outside of London!
However putting that to one side! I think the American Southern accent is great it puts on no pretences (unlike the English accent) and it also seems to me that the people in the South are putting on a bit of an act.
Why? I don't know but they are certainly not as dumb as they make out, I do know this to be a fact, I have worked with a few, if they can work off shore in a foreign country and understand the drilling technology, they are no mugs!. Even if they 'talk funny'!
