Viruses are made by various people. Hackers usually do not create viruses because it is against hacker code to do so. Look up the true definition of a hacker(short definition is a very skilled computer programmer). Most people get it confused with cracker (some one who attempts to crack into a computer).

Who all has made viruses only one can speculate. Most of the time it is individuals but I am sure that big software has put some out.

No, viruses are made by hackers. People who know about the way computers work, especially software. They normally find ways to exploit the software, to hijack it or infect it. They may infect someone else's software by sending them the virus via email as an application (.exe) file. If the hacker/programmer is smart enough, he can make the application find all the email recipient's address book contacts and send the virus to all of them!

How evil is that?

Anyway, hope that answers your question!

Maybe it started with people who hate Bill Gates and wanted to screw up Windows systems? It could also have started from budding young programmers who wanted to make a name for themselves in the software industry. After a while the anti-virus software programming companies discovered they could make money out of it and probably they added to it by putting out a virus so they could sell the anti-virus!

Virus programmers. This is a bigger industry then we are lead to believe, there are tons of funding available and most viral attacks makes money for Anti-Virus companies and possible even programmers. Look up what Computer Virus means and you will soon put information together to fill and gaps in knowledge.

Most of the time its Twats, anyone with experiance with computer programming will be able to create a virus, most of the time its about respect in the underground world or computer twats who spend all day on forums saying I am better than you and il will prove it, then they say I did that look at me im great, when infact they are nothing.
