A WWE diva fan, I see, lol. People lie for self preservation, to make themselves look good or to keep from getting in trouble. Those are the three main reasons. There are others I'm sure.

Because they are liars, it's a lack of moral code that they have that non-liars don't have.
The reasons why they tell a particular lie at a particular time are academic, it wouldn't be an issue if they had the moral code that told them it was wrong and therefore not to do it.
If they had that moral code then they wouldn't lie even if it was a benefit to them in some way because any such benefit would be outweighed by the act of lying.
There's no need to find reasons, justification or excuses for liars....God knows, they do that enough for themselves.
They're just liars.

Some people lie because it makes them feel powerful to deceive others. They feel superior. They feel entitled to get whatever they want by whatever means. Liars are cowards.
