A yob is a loutish bloke with a bad attitude who thinks hes so tough and this is usually when hes with other guys with same attitude. A group of yobs came towards me in UK once, I was just carrying my shopping and because there was more than one of them one shouted in my face "whats in your bag lady" - this was aimed a frightening me and it sure did, they just kept going but I was also once spat at by one of two guys standing in a shop doorway, yobs also cause trouble at football games etc, usually yobs enjoy too many drinks and this makes them even worse yobs. I am a middle aged caucasian female who does nothing to attract yobs but they dont need an excuse, they just make absolute idiots of themselves by trying to be tough and its a very negative way of going about it. One does not have to resort to that kind of behaviour to be tough, they need to get a life.

basically a person from the "underclass" usually unemployed. A cigarette smoker who wears cheap "sports wear" and who lacks charm or interpersonal skills. He/she will resort to violence as a way of resolving issues.
