I accidently delated the 'internet explorer' icon from my desktop an I'd like to have it back, how can I do it? I don't want a shortcut just an 'internet explorer' icon just like 'my computer' and recycle bin' icons.
can anyone help me with that please? I have windows xp.

Right click on the desktop and select 'Properties'. Click the 'Desktop' tab and go onto 'Customize Desktop'. Select 'Internet Explorer' and click OK.

Follow these steps
- Click "Start"
- Click "Settings"'
- Click "Control Panel"
- Click "Display"
- This opens window for "Display Properties"
- Select "Desktop" from top menu
- Click on "Customize Desktop" at bottom
- This opens another window
- In the "General tab", in the "Desktop Icon" section, check the box against "Internet Explorer"
- Click "OK"

First check your recycle bin. See if it's there...RESTORE it.

OTHERWISE, click on the following, in this order.
Start
Programs
Internet explorer
Send to
Desktop

That's a shortcut and the easiest method. What you had before was also a short cut.

You can go to "start" and then programs and find the internet explorer and "drag" the icon to your desktop.

Go to your recycle bin and restore it.
