I was pulled over last weekend for expired tabs and they soon found out that we had all been drinking in my car. I didn't have much and thought that it had all left my system but there was still a trace. I have to go to court now and was wondering what should I expect for fines or penalties?

Drinking and driving, even with just trace amounts, for a minor can mean revocation of you license (no warnings) and you may not get it back for several years (e.g., until you're 25).

They won't put you in jail, unless you hurt someone.

There may be fines.

But you should expect to have your license revoked.

Your parents can also face charges, although I don't they will be severe.

In the end, you committed a crime: you drank underage. If nothing else, that makes you a criminal and you can expect some sort of "punishment" for that. In addition, folks tend to take the notion of drinking and driving seriously enough that minors that do it (even with just traces) can see relatively severe punishment.

Some judges might even require you to do community service, to attend alcohol-awareness sessions, etc.

And, if you have quality parents, I'm sure that whatever punishment THEY'VE given you will be more severe than what the courts will.

Underage ingesting is criminal in some locations on inner maximum property. The strictest regulations require a parent to be recent for a minor to drink. and of path you are able to't be arrested for employing somebody below the impact of alcohol living house... a minimum of not yet.

Sentences and State Laws vary along with how influential your family is and willing to pay the lawyers. The important thing you should expect is to understand you got off easy. You didn't kill anyone or leave them with harmful injuries.

drinking and driving? driving is a privilege not a right and its obviously a privilege you don't deserve. what you do deserve is a long term suspension of your driver's licence and a good stiff fine. your family must be real proud of you.
next time you want to try and kill yourself and your buddies do it in a manner that doesn't risk the general public.

Not sure about the fines, but you are at risk of losing your license until you are 21.

It depends on the state you live in, if they found open container in your car, and if anyone was under age.

depends whats classed as underage for either drinking or driving in your country.
if you were breath tested and your underage they've have you for dui and underage drinking. be sensible and tell them where you bought it to deflect attention away from yourself.
