Hey - just thought I'd add I love the idea of a flower other than a rose. I love daffodils, and tulips but the orchid mentioned is quite elegant.
In the spirit of the article I think doing what is expected may not ruin V-day but it does dull it down. I'm planning a surprise special night on the 13th since hubby will be expecting nothing that day looking forward to the 14th then hmm candles lotions and me dollied up a day ahead.
...So perhaps instead of roses, perhaps one of those great lotions for victorias secret (I love the purple one and it has a passionate name as I recall) take out chinese and lotion and massage each other from the feet up as far as you can get. Or even a couples game to get to know each other better, that can be risque or not. Its about original thought and and showig you care enough to think ahead.
