Where can I find a website that will host forums for my organization that I can link directly to that will allow everyone to create their own username and password?

Creating for free would be best, but I can handle a somewhat nominal charge.

I would also like to create a site where authors could create their own basic homepage with basic information about themselves where they input a few fields and they can be looked up using those fields.

Visit Following webhosting , they are quite good.

Hostmonster http://anurl.com/?PQMRY

They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 200000 MB (200 GB ). They only charge $4.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

Domains
Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about $5/ year just for free privacy.

There are many FREE ones out there, like boardhost.com, but I gave up on ones like that long ago 'cos they were doing my head in from not being able to do hardly sweet-f/a with the boards......... not to mention losing 2 of the bloody things in less than 6months.

Now I much prefer hosting my own using a webhosting package provided by 1&1 Internet
US version = http://www.1and1.com
UK version = http://www.1and1.co.uk/?k_id=3794345

Since I bought my hosting package off them in January 2002, they've made their own board software available among their selection of free scripts, in addition to be able to enable a WORDPRESS blog (see http://blog.john-duck.co.uk for mine).......... however I still much prefer using an open source messageboard called YaBB which can be found at

With enhancements available for it here:
