Well, if you are not good at sports the other things that works is being rich. Show up in an expensive car and splash out on designer clothes. Try and make friends with the most popular guys in your school. Do crazy things, you'll get noticed at least.

IThe best thing about sports was making daisy chains during cricket. I didn't get interested in sport until I was doing a PhD.

A lot of people never feel popular. I wasn't. Just make the most of the friends you have. I don't feel popular now but I do like my friends. I trust them and share understandings with them. If they like me thassenough. 3 or 4 brilliant friends and a damn sight better than 10 hangers on.

Why do you have to be good at sports to be popular in school?

Personally I think being yourself is okay... being popular at school isn't so important...
If yo uwant to be popular at school then try make friends with the popular people, without totally humiliating yourself.
Or, you could always get on the better side of a lot of people. Make your good qualities known, and focus less on your sport side.

This is a very common question. Most "popular" kids consist of the jocks and the people who are bullies and mean to nerds or geeks or people lower than their social class. I would like to tell everyone to be yourself, REAL popularity isn't about how you get the girls, or how much your known. Its about how unique you are, and how much you are known for your kindness and respect towards everone else. There is TWO kinds of popular kids. The "negative" popular kids bully others, try to impress people, dont be theirselves, and will probaly go to jail for bad things. the "positive" popular kids talk to everyone, respect everyone in school and neibhorghood and lower classes, they probaly get straight a's, they have a VERY low chance of getting in jail, and girls come to them when accoutned for. You dont have to play sports to be popular, but i'd recommend going to other activities to show you help people and give respect, and you'll get "respect" and "got yo back" influency. Be yourself, and be unique, dont be a loser. Be a WINNER.

Talk like Vicky Pollard & Jade Goody. Drink like PaulGascoigne.
Discuss the TV programme Big brother. Take drugs. Swear and curse at the teachers etc etc.
Or, be quiet and reserved....and get on with being educated which will stand you in good stead when you leave school/college.

honestly-popularity really doesnt matter. im in high school right now and i just finally realized that eventually all the popular people are going to be failures in the world because they dont really know how it is out there and they are always talkking behind other peoples backs. just be yourself, be true to ur friends and concetrate in school

Just be nice to people and make friends with everyone. Then run for a position on student council. It gets you out there. Running for student council also gives you an opportunity to meet and greet with students. Having been a former student, I know it helps to be confident, and be yourself. Be the individual that you are and you will find your way.

you don't need to be. Just be cool with yourself and stop trying to be popular. Maybe you could start being more confident and chatting to people. Popularity ain't all its cracked up to be. Once your popular you need to stay popular. Do you want that kind of pressure?..Just be yourself man;)

stop worrying about it. HS (or JH or whatever) is just a fluke. it's not even a normal representation of life, REAL life, not school life.

if people there don't like you, it means they are too caught up in the drama and the cliches and the stupid c r a p that they THINK HS is all about. just try your hardest at what you do, do stuff that you like, no matter what people think or say ... they're just retarded, ok?

just BE YOU!!!!
