Take control of them and make them mind.
If they don't take there toys or extra things away form them.
Give them a job list of things that needs to be done at home and make them do it. If they do not they lose things if they do do it then they earn things.
Make them live like person does in real life

it all depends on their age, if it is up to 10 years of age, then show them what you do for them by not doing it on their terms. for instance they want to go out and you have to drive them. do it when it is convenient for you. and tell them sorry I am busy now, but I can go in about 2 hours or meals tell them you will have supper ready at their favourite time for them to be doing some thing else. Children take for granted that you will be there and do every thing because you do it all the time. so if you show them that they can not mind you they can not expect you to mind them. they get the message very quickly when it is not on their agenda to have to deal with a mother who doesn't do what they want

Take the things the child really likes away, there just testing you!!!!!!!!
