My sister thinks she may have inserted a second tampon by mistake after having already inserted one earlier and not removing it. Is this possble and if so, what are the health risks associated with this and how would she know if she had in fact done this.

Possibly. If so, get her to take out the second one, and...um..."fish around" for the first one. (sorry, kinda gross). If she can't find it, you should definitely go to the doctors, so they can remove it. She really shouldn't leave it in there, because she will run a high risk of contracting TSS, a really nasty thing to get. If there is a second one in there, the doctor will be able to get it out, and if there isn't one...no harm done. Don't worry, they see this all the time where people get them in, and then can't get them out.

I did this once! And guess what, I didn't find the second one until an entire month later! This is REALLY unhealthy though, because you could get toxic shock syndrome. It might hurt worse when she pulls out the first one, that might be a sign. The only other thing is for her to just dig really deep in there with her fingers, as deep as she can, to try to find the string. It can't go further than her cervix, and she should be able to touch her cervix with her fingers. If she still can't find and and really thinks it's there, she should see a gynocologist asap.

Yes it is possible. She needs to go see a doctor as soon as possible my sister did that and she attracted Toxic Shock Syndrome it can make her very sick and if she doesn't catch it in time it can be fatal. You can also tell her to read the paper in the tampon box it will explain everything. Tell her that I said everything will be okay and I will pray for her.

Yes-a tampon can stuck behind or under the cervix-the doctor has to remove it. I wouldn't put another tampon in unless your sure.

If she did, stick a finger up there. If you find one too many. Take it out. If she finds more. Go the Doctor. The vagina was designed for insertion, not storage.

Yes, it is possible... and very easy to forget...

She needs to have it taken out soon as possible cos it can rot away inside her and this is not good at all!! (Sorry to be so graphic!)

Tell her to go to a gyno who can take it out for her...
