It was emailed? Files are either binary or text. Binary files need to be opened by the application they were made with like Word, etc. Text files can be opened with any text editor like WordPad.

The file extension if there is one, will give you a clue as to what type of file it is.

sorry have no idea what program you are using
one of these two should do it
1. right mouse click and use send to - desktop
1a. or choose save as to put in a folder
2. highlight ( mouse click and pass by it at the start of the first sentence and go down till it is all highlighted ) and drag ( using mouse ) to move elsewhere

some things you can't move or save - like mail in Yahoo from a Yahoo link

if it is an attachment you need to double click to open - or save to a folder and then it will give you a choice of opening using the web - this will not work if you have an anti-virus program but the web link will tell you what program you need to open it !

or you can forward it to me if it's not personal and I'll open the darn thing for you and send it back ! johnbndallas@youknowwho

Highlight the attachment. Hold down the left mouse button and drag to your desktop. OR right click the attachment and select Save As. This will save it to My Documents by default.

Just CTRL+Drag. Point at it and press CTRL. Drop it on the desktop. You might want to look at the mail application in a windowed aperature so you will have room to drag to the desktop.

Right-click on the file, select copy, go to your desktop, right-click, select paste. Double-click on the file on the desktop and it should open.
