i'd say its around 60 percent.
Actually why would you join the army unless you wanted to be sent over to war?

Listen, WE are in a WAR time!!!
YOU will be sent over to fight!
That is what they train you to do, and that is what they expect you to do. If you join and change your mind, you will be breaking the law. You will be government property. YOU DO AS THEY SAY, AND ANSWER TO THE GOVERNMENT.
I would think long and hard about joining any service during a war time era. WE DO NOT HAVE THE DRAFT.
This one of many options you have to do with your life.
If you want to be trained to kill people, fight for freedom on someone other countries land......with something you may or may not believe it.......YOU will be a trained soilder and learn how to Kill and be Killed.
YOU have choices. If you choose to serve-- Go Coast Gaurd
IN the late 1960's there was the DRAFT.
We didn't have choices.
You can get a Job, you can move to a better place with more opportunities.
Sure the recruiters tell you all the good things you will get if you join. Meals, dicipline, 3 meals, Housing.
At what cost are you willing to give up your freedoms in your life that you are living today to fight for Iraqi freedoms that may or may not come about.
I support our troops 100% and hope we find a peaceful way out of this, and that Iraq can one day have peace and freedom.
They fight century long wars. That part of the country has always fought wars over turf, and mainly religion dating back to biblical times.
I am from the time of the DRAFT.
NO parent or friend, or sister or brother wants to worry about their loved one going to another country and getting caught in cross fire.
I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT JOIN -- Not during wartime!!
If you do join-- Consider the Coast Gaurd. they are safest!!

If you are Combat Arms (Infantry, Artillery, Armor, Combat Engineer) probably about 100% during your enlistment...if you are any other MOS probably 75%...but in most cases unless you are a MP (Military Police) or Truck Driver...you will be on a base and you might not ever even be shot at...the most dangerous job right now is Truck Driver...they insurgence do not usually fight, they use IEDs...mainly because Arabs can not fight and they are cowards...they do not confront the men with the guns...

It depends what your job is. If you join and go into combat arms, it should be pretty evident that at some point in a 4 year enlistment you are going to Iraq or Afghanistan.
