what you refer to as one's nature is superficial, arbitrary and is a construct of mind - so mind can override it - our thoughts can change us

however that nature may not be your "true" nature, that's what Buddhists believe... they think that your mind stems from your "true" nature...so this nature cannot be subservient to mind

This depends on what you mean by nature.

By nature, do you mean genetics? Common behaviors? Childhood experiences? I would tend to group all of those under nature.

If you agree, then, one's mind can override one's nature in some respects.

For example, addiction can stem from genetics, environment, or a series of events. If addiction were to run its course, and you have an addictive nature, your willingness to overcome the addiction will be zero. Once a friend reaches out and helps you realize that your addiction is ruining relationships and killing you, your mind will be motivated to stop the addiction. You may need constant reinforcement, but the mind can still overcome.

I think a persons nature is a product of many segments including ones mind.
Most definately upbringing is the main influence in shaping ones mind during its formative years.
However, when one views large families one is often able to witness the unique and individual differences of each persons nature.
There are many incidents where adopted children meet their biological parents only to find their nature is somehow genetically the same.
Can we trully override our natural order of operation with our minds?..As a race....I doubt it.
As an individual anything is possible

They are pretty much one in the same.
Our nature is Adamic; and cannot be assumed otherwise.

To make that statement basic:
WE ARE WIRED TO GO AGAINST GOD IN ALL THAT WE DO BC THAT IS WHAT OUR FLESH WANTS........

IF SAY; your personal "nature" is to be gluttonous with food, than try to fast. You will find that in your attempt to deprive your body of what it wants (your brain of course, in other words, controls that call that it gets from your gut)......Fasting is the way that we tell our bodies that THEY are not in control, we are (BY conscience decision).......

Our mind and nature go hand in hand,
unless we submit ourselves finally to GOD, we cannot override our nature. We are slaves to our own desires, in the flesh. But in the realm of the spiritual, i.e ONE who submits to the knowledge of GOD and Christ JESUS, we are made then ABLE, simply, to overcome sin, or anything that you are trying to :override:.....

For superficial behaviors yes, this is one of the reasons that man can mature in actions; if we didn't have this capability then we would all act like 2-year old.

For deeper personality profiles, no; ie; if a person is a sociopath then they will always be one.

yes, one's mind can overrun one's nature, because as you stated as a question, which is really a fact: a person's nature is a product of their mind, and to each his own...
