What is a den?

Question

Ummm, it might sound stupid that I don't know the meaning of the word den. Please explain thouroughly and clearly

In Nancy Drew, Shadow Ranch, It says there's a triangular blaket desk at the corner. I checked all the rooms, I never found it, any ideas?

a den is a room in the house used for watching tv and sitting ot must provide a quiet comtorable atmosphere it can also be the home ov a predatory mamala it is like a small living room

Den has many uses. It could be the home of a bear. It is used for a room in a house. It could be used as a Cub Scout troop.

I can't define it with out context.

1) its a cave-like dwelling for certain animals
or
2) its a closed in living room area

In the context of a room, it means a downstairs and/or basement room set up for relaxation. We call it a family room where I come from, other places it's a sitting room. Pick your term.
