I can tell you that when the 100s of people are in the queue they send out scouts to scan the queue and pick out people of 'entertainment value' these people are the people who basically rake in the viewers. Entertainment value can mean good looks, ugly and diverse, characters, grannies etc as we have seen. You do not have to be able to sing because there is technology to fix your voice. Anybody who 'wins' X factor will never be the next Madonna because Simon Cowell runs the show and owns the company, he raked in 3 million just from the phone votes. And he's going to do this year after year so any so-called talent will be replaced annually. The 'winners' get a tour and an album and then they are forgotten, remember Will Young, and where is Leona? Simon Cowell is the only winner in this.

Sorry to have to tell you this but yes the judges do not see every audition that goes through.
I was listening to radio last year and someone phoned up and asked if he could be wished luck as he was going to auditions next day. The DJ asked could they phone next day to see how he got on and he did. He said he got no where near any of the judges in fact the go through a set of screening people first bit like television get through one lot of audition then another.
Judges get either the very best, the very worst for television purposes or ones bad/goodish.
I think for the judges to sit through everyone they would take three four weeks in each city every day dawn to dusk can you see Sharon doing that. lol
The man on radio did not even get through the first screaning!

Have you seen how many people turn up for the auditions? Let's say each applicant gets 2 minutes in total. That's 30 an hour, if they work a 10 hour day, which is unlikely, they'd see 300 people. There's a lot more than that at each audition. As they in the US, do the math.

It's not about finding talent, it's about attracting viewers to watch the adverts in these crap shows and to generate advertising revenue.
They don't take any notice of the votes either - the whole thing is pre-planned and scripted. The voting is just to generate more revenue. It's a nice little earner which allows the TV companies to extract money from stupid people.

The TV companies do what they like. Don't expect fairness to come into it.
