Hello. I am looking for reasons as to why an average high school student would be late to class. I am using this for an assignment, and need a lot of people to respond to make it a success. I will give out lots of points for the best answer(s). Thanks. Tell your friends to post as well !

i had to take my little sister to school
my mom was sick and i had to get the baby dressed
dad was in jail and mom had to go bail him out so i couldn't come until mom got home because i had to watch my little brother.
the electricity went off and my alarm clock didn't work
my mom's car had a flat tire on the way to school
my dad's car didn't start
besides alarm clock problems and car trouble and
having to help with family:
i had nothing to wear because there was a flood in my closet: the pipes had burst
too much snow; couldn't open the door
there was a giant barking dog in the way outside my front door and i was scared to leave home.

If they are old enough to drive, the car wouldn't start, or it broke down.
If they walk, the weather could be a factor, same with bussing.
They just plain overslept.
Couldn't find something important, like homework.
They had a doctors appointment.
Whoever was giving them a ride forgot to pick them up.
Sick, but decided to put themselves together and come anyway.
Hair/makeup/clothes emergency.
Sibling running late, thus running them late.

car broke down, missed the bus, couldn't find their house keys, fogot their homework at home and had to return to get it, felt sick, alarm was set for PM, lost their wallet in school, was in the bathroom, couldnt get their locker open, got a call from their parents,

You missed the bus, then got into a HUGE argument with your parents because of it, and they made you walk to school as a form of punishment.

I think the best one is Libyan terrorists jumped out of the lockers in the west wing and took me hostage. works every time or just say a girl dropped her books in the hall and i tried to help her pick them up

saying goodbye to my boyfriend always took a long time so i was always late to class in high school.
