I think his books have become a bit too formulaic and repetitive. I read him quite a bit about 10 years ago, then took a break because I wanted to read some other things. I came back to him a few years ago and one of the books I read was Odd Thomas and for me it was a pretty big let down. I haven't read Forever Odd and probably won't, I think Koontz and I have parted ways.

I would defiantly recommend it! I read Koontz a lot. His more recent books are really good. The book that got me interested in him was Lightning. It is a really great one. Koontz writes stories that are fast paced and exciting. He writes with a lot of humor too! Especially in the "Odd" series. I think you would really enjoy it! I have read book 1 & 2 and I can't wait to read 3. I also can't wait to read book 3 of his Frankenstein series!!

I'm an avid reader and I always have a Koontz book ready to read or being read.

Each of his books are different. Some have more supernatual subgenre, and some not any. (Husband was a straight suspense and very good). The Hidaway was a good book about a phyco. BUT Mr.Koontz always writes an exciting and easy to read story with strong character (he loves Golden Retrievers and it show in many of his novels).

Dean got a little formulaic for a while there, but for the most part, his books are engrossing and he tells a good story. I didn't like Forever Odd anywhere near as much as I liked Odd Thomas. Odd Thomas was fun and engaging. Forever Odd felt stilted.

If you like Fear Nothing and Seize the Night and the incredible hero of those books, Christopher Snow, you will probably also like Life Expectancy. Same kind of loveable, oddball, quirky character.

Koontz is one of my all-time favorite authors!! Read "Odd Thomas" first, then proceed to "Forever Odd". I haven't read "Brother Odd" yet, but look forward to it, as the first 2 were amazingly good. I also recommend "Life Expectancy" "Watchers" "Lightning" "The Bad Place" "The Face" and anything else you can get your hands on!

I recommend ANY book by Dean Koontz. I have been reading him for about 10 years now and he hasn't failed me yet!! It's good if you like suspenseful drama.

He is an amazing writer. Yes, yes yes. Forever odd is my favorite book. Odd Thomas is the first book to that series. Then Brother Odd is the third book. I haven't read the last one yet, but the first two are amazing.

He's good. But, like any other author who puts out as many books as Koontz, some are better than others. i liked Night Chills and Watchers. Other good ones are out there too, just forgot the titles...

Koontz is good at developing plots and characters, and the endings can be done well.

I would recommend reading his work.
