why wait? I guess you should wait though, if your baby is due any day, why put yourself through all that right now.
You don't want the birth of your baby to be scared by the bitter divorce.
However, You can get child support whenever the baby is born, i am not sure if that would even be a divorce lawyers say, maybe alimony, but not child support. I think that is more of a domestic courts thing, could be wrong.
why not go to the lawyer, and get advice, they would be better off tell ling you your legal rights more than I.

If he is abusive, get out now! Divorce can take a while and may take longer than the baby is inside you.
Either way, the creep will still owe child support to the child he helped produce.
