This was 11 years ago and my OB/GYN said it is caused by the breast tissue drawing up. It has never gone back to normal. Has anyone else ever had this?

I got a lump of sorts near my armpit during my pregnancy 17 years ago. It looks a bit like a nipple but considerably smaller. I thought about getting it removed but the doctor told me the scar would probably be worse than the actual "nipple".
Can you discribe it for us?
You should check with your another doctor to be sure.

For a lump in the armpit caused by an infected, painful gland, follow the instructions about the proper treatment for the underlying infection.

A lump in the armpit caused by a generalized viral infection will eventually disappear without treatment. A lump in the armpit caused by an allergic reaction will go away after the "trigger" is removed. No treatment is necessary for a lump in the armpit caused by normal breast tissue. Usually, no treatment is necessary for a cyst.

A lump in the armpit caused by a lipoma is harmless, unless it grows so large that it causes discomfort.

For a lump in the armpit caused by a malignancy, follow the appropriate cancer treatment recommended by a doctor.

I never had one, but my friend did. I think it was some sort of cyst or lymp node or something they call it. It pops up under the skin. It was a hard lump. From what she described, it is rather painful. It began to leak a puss like substance, and it even had an odor like it was infected. They always appear under her armpit. They are usually triggered by stress, but the last one I think, was irritated by the deodorant she used. It got so infected and painful that she had to have it lanced by a doctor. Get it checked out. Take it seriously. Good Luck

I sometimes get one when I am really stressed out about something, but it goes away when life gets back to normal. I've never been pregnant though, so I don't know if this helps....
