I havent had my period in 2 months, and I have taken 2 blood pregnancy test, both Negative,as well as a pelvic exam. I have been off birth control for 2 months as well, and had light spotting in the first week of January...Now I have had an extremely bad back ache, and felt light cramps or shooting pains in my lower abodmen.
Do you think this could be my period coming? Or something else?
I havent lifted anything or had any previous injuries to cause the back ache.
Ive never missed a period and haven been off birth control in 6 years!! So i'm lost with my thoughts....and hoping its my period

Your body is going to need some time to get used to being off birth control. It's probably a period coming.

I had taken the pill for 3 years and then when I stopped taking it I didn't get a period for 5 months. It is just because your hormones have been all mucked up with stopping the pill. Be patient you should hopefully get it soon.

Six years is a pretty long time to be on pills so you're body is going through a lot of changes right now. The cramps could definitely be you're period coming. My advice to you...if you're going to have sex any time soon, use a condom. Unless you are looking to get pregnant.

its probably jsut your body trying to readjust itself from getting off the birth control. your hormones are changing and reacting. birth control is nothing but hormones in a pill/patch/etc... and your body needs to readjust to using its own hormones. two months sounds about right for your symptoms. if things dont start to become a little more regular or normal within the next 2-3 weeks, i think you should see a doctor.

It's probably on the way - changes in hormones can wreak havoc with your system. BUT - I would still make an appointment with your ob-gyn to make sure...especially if it's been a year or more since your last pap & pelvic.

sounds to me if you stopped taking your birth control 2 months ago and you haven't had your period in 2 months that maybe discontinuing the use of you birth control has irregulated your period.

your body and hormones are probably just all out of whack coming off the birth control that you have been on for so long. you body is probably trying to get back to normal, but it will take some time for your cycle to establish itself again.
