Manage a mobile home park in Arkansas, currently receiving $7.00hr plus a mobile home as salary. I pay all my own utilities and answer the phones in the evenings and all weekend long. Also show rentals on the weekends, all of which I do not get paid for.
Am I getting paid enough?

I was a property manager for an Aprtment complex and the Apartment, Water, Electric and Phone is free.

Schwob Realtors...best in the South. He takes care of his managers and your apartment is the office in front..very cool.

Rent for a two bedroom is $800.00 a month

My pay was $8.30 an hour

The best way to be a property manager is to set rather long hours on 4 days a week. Limited hours for 2 days and zero hours for one day.

So it should be something like 8-8 Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon

9-6 Tues, Wed

Closed on Thursday.

Then you have some time to get your own errands run.

Be totally available during the "on" hours and only available for emergencies in the "off" hours.

In your area, depending upon how many vacancies you have and how much turn over. $7 could be right on or a tad low. But I don't see it as too high. Just make the job work for you too.

It can start to feel like slavery if you don't block out set times to be off. Once everyone gets used to it, they will all be fine. But expect some big resistance at first if you've been at beck an call for 24/7.

Best of luck,

YES: Your livings expenses (a roof over your head) and $7.00 per hour (40) a week ? You can move forward well. Consider a part time job during the week from 8 am to 4 pm at a supermarket. You would really get over. Save and you will be able to buy a house, and rent the trailer as long as you keep the job.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me..If you are getting paid $7.00 an hour does this not include weekend hours? If you only get paid for Monday through Friday say 8-5 I guess you can argue that you don;t have to work after that?...Heck I don't know I am just a little Kansas girl!..lol..ss

I was an apartment manager and had a wonderful 2-bedroom apartment for free. The property owner was wonderful, as were the tenants. I had a free 2-bedroom apartment with utilities paid. No salary.

No you could make more than that at a retailer or fast food place and not have the headaches. That sounds ridiculous.
