Logic is the rational application of observations and existing knowledge. Used properly, it increases knowledge exponentially. Faulty logic, on the other hand can lead to "learning" things that are simply not true.

Logic and Truth are two totally different concepts.

Logic is the finding of patterns to reasoning. It is philosophical. The truth is reality

An example. Man beats wife on a regular basis

The logical follow on from that is that wife reasons he will do it again because he has done it so many times before. She would therefore reason that she should leave him to be safe.

The truth is - she'll stay in 8 cases out of 10

Logic will eliminate wrong assumptions/interpretations if applied correctly in most circumstances.

Logic: The study of the principles of reasoning, especially of the structure of propositions as distinguished from their content and of method and validity in deductive reasoning (Webster)

How can it not? Logic is the only way to confirm facts.

logic and truth cannot be directly related, because of the limitations of the human mind. Like the 2 hemispheres of our brain, the logical and creative, act in unison to create the ego, which is us (you or me)as we directly experience life.

logic is an essential part of human existence, and obviously logic does lead to knowledge if executed properly, but it is not knowledge that you (or I) should be searching for...
...it is wisdom

Logic is to reason and argument what order of operations are to mathematics.

There are things you can do, and things you cannot.

You can say, you can propose or postulate anything you desire; but that doesn't make it true.

Check out the link below; it was one of our "holy texts" for college composition.

The authors of the book said,""The triumph of rhetoric is like the spread of a virus infection." "Logic is the defense against trickery."

I think logic is the opposite of emotion. And when you are emotionally entangled in anything you will find it impossible to tell what is the truth.

Logic helps us think about ordering information, but it only works perfectly in a mathematical sense, not in real world situations.
Logic does have a day-to-day usefulness, but if one wanted to be pedantic about it, nothing in the real world is really true.
All facts are disputable.
